ERIKA IS LEAVING
but we don’t want her to go.
erika, a dead fly, is an art piece at HSG. the HSG art commission now wants to get rid of it, despite it not causing any costs whatsoever for HSG.
the old adage “if you love someone, let them go” does not apply to flies. we want our beloved erika to remain an integral part of our campus and a centerpiece of student culture.
let this student-led initiative GENERATE A BUZZ.
sign this petition aimed at the HSG art commission and let our voices be heard!
the petition has been handed over to the Dean! further signatures are symbolic (but still welcome 😉 )

it is with disappointment and sadness that we announce that the hsg’s art commission has decided against the clear wishes of over 1’000 hsg students and professors, ignoring them completely. even with the vote of the student representatives, the art commission’s decision was unanimous. furthermore, the art commission lamentably did not consider it necessary to inform the signatories of the petition directly about the decision. we are disappointed that the university did not take the widely supported petition as an opportunity to strengthen the culture of debate at this well-regarded institution.
even though we would have wished for a different outcome and would have liked students to be genuinely involved, we respect the decision and thank the art commission for its voluntary commitment and dedication.
we are convinced that erika’s story and legacy will live on at hsg. let us continue to speak up in the future, even if it may go against the opinion of decision-makers.
